CANTON -- Special guests, caller Angie Oliver and The Great South Woods String Band from Wanakena, will perform at the community contra dance at The TAUNY Center on Saturday, Feb. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m.
The band is a group of musicians from both sides of Lake Champlain, playing a variety of Celtic, French Canadian and old time contra dance tunes, mixed with some world beats and ethnic rhythms.
The dance is open to the public and beginners are welcome. There is a $5 to $10 suggested donation.
