WADDINGTON -- The Waddington Summer Concert Series is planning eight shows this year, including acts that perform orchestral, bluegrass, rock, country and other musical genres.
Shows through July 24 are 7 to 9 p.m. Shows from July 31 through the end of the season are 6 to 8 p.m.
All will be at Island View Park. Rain location is the old town hall.
June 19 is the Family Fest with Donna and Bob Miller and Laura Burnett and special guests. They play everything from blues to bluegrass.
On July 10, Northern Lights Orchestra will play their “A Celtic Journey” program. It will feature a number of Celtic favorites arranged for full orchestra, as well as several selections featuring the string section. Songs include traditional favorites such as “Danny Boy,” “Scotland the Brave,” “The Minstrel Boy,” and “The South Wind.”
Tupper Lake trio The Rustic Riders will take the stage July 17. They play original pieces with traditional roots.
Fritz’s Polka Band is slated for July 24. From Verona, they play a variety of styles, including modern polka, country, rock and blues.
Six Foot Midget is on tap for July 31. Formed in the 1990s, they play rock.
Aug. 14 will feature the country act The Back Country Band.
Double Axel will take the stage on Aug. 21. They are a rock band from Potsdam and have been playing for more than 40 years.
The series closes Aug. 28 with Rivergrass Band. They play a mix of traditional bluegrass, old-time country and gospel.
