WADDINGTON — Due to inclement weather in the forecast and an unfinished pavilion, the Fritz Polka Band will play at the Donald M. Martin Civic Center as part of the Waddington Concert Series.
They will play from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The venue is located next to the bowling alley.
Playing everything from modern-style polka to country to rock and even blues, FPB performs an eclectic mix of musical styles. Fritz’s Polka Band is not an oompa pa band or the stereotypical polka band. The first polka band to ever perform at a Woodstock festival in 1999, FPB was inducted into the Syracuse Area Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
The group has recorded 18 albums and performed at B.B. King’s club in 2003, The China Club in 2006, and The Metropolitan Club in 2007.
Fritz’s Polka Band even appears on “The Manchurian Candidate” dvd released by Paramount Pictures in 2004.
In 2011, FPB had two different songs appear in episodes of the hit cable TV show “Breaking Bad” which airs on AMC.
All Waddington Concert Series shows are free to the public.
