MASSENA -- The Village of Massena will hold a public rally on Wednesday, May 9 in support of their effort to land Downtown Revitalization Initiative grants.
People can come to the Town Hall steps, 60 Main St., at 6:30 p.m.
Mayor Tim Currier said getting people to show they support the downtown could help them get the grant.
"A key part of the application process is to demonstrate public support for the initiative. So often, leaders in this community have heard from citizens about the need to improve the downtown. This is a chance for citizens to demonstrate that desire, and have their voices heard," Currier said in an email. "The rally will also allow people to take a close look at the development and progress being made in the core of our community. A great deal of projects and business have developed and opened recently in our downtown. We recognize we have a great deal of work to do, but we are making progress and we believe we are in position to present an attractive application for the DRI."
