POTSDAM -- Potsdam Recreation has set its schedule for the season of public skating and hockey at Pine Street Arena.

The schedule is subject to change for special events.

• Public skating Monday through Friday 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., Thursday 6 to 7 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 to 2 p.m. Adults $2, Seniors and Students $1. Kids under 5 skate for free. Skate rental is $4. Over 100 pairs of youth and adult hockey skates available for rent from size 8 youth to 13 adult.

• Senior Shinny Monday through Friday 8:30-9:45 a.m., reserved as a relaxed pick-up hockey game for seniors that are present that day. Cost is $1.

• Adult Skating Monday through Friday 10 to 11 a.m. reserved for adults to practice skating skills without the presence of small children.

• Parent-Tot skating Monday through Friday 11:15 to noon. Parents can take their small children and those learning to skate in a more relaxed setting than at Public Skating.

• Open Hockey Monday through Friday 12:15-1:30 p.m. Full equipment recommended, helmets required. Skaters $3, goalies free.

Special Rock & Skate Themes will be announced for select Thursdays like the Halloween Skate 6 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25, Skate with Santa 6 to 7 p.m. Dec. 20. Admission for the larger events like this will be $5.

On school holidays, vacation days and snow days, Youth Open Hockey, for those 12 years old and younger, will run from 11 a.m. to noon, $3. When this occurs, the regularly scheduled adult skating is shortened to 10:00-10:45 a.m. and Parent-Tot skating is cancelled. For players 13 and older, Open Hockey is as regularly scheduled from 12:15-1:30 p.m.

Schedule changes and rental info, including snowshoes, will be posted on the program’s Facebook page, along with details to come on a recreational broomball league and skate sharpening service. Winter field trip also to be announced.
