CANTON -- The VFW Post 1231 Auxiliary will honor veterans with a festival at the village park across from Post Office Saturday, Sept. 30, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in honor of National VFW Day.
Activities will include: 10 cent games for kids, cupcake walk, dime toss for prizes, a patriotic bike decorating contest at l p.m., rock painting, crafts and coloring.
In addition, the St. Lawrence County Sheriff will do child safe cards from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., the county clerk will have information on "Return the Favor," the Canton Fire Department will be represented with a fire truck and ambulance, and Walgreens will have information on free flu shots for veterans.
Information will be available to purchase a wreath for Wreaths Across America.
Donations of aluminum can tabs will be accepted for Ronald McDonald House.
There will be brochures and applications for VFW scholarship programs.
Music will be provided by the 10th Mountain Division Band, Avalanche.
