MASSENA -- This year’s Nov. 11 Veterans Day parade will line up at the American Legion, East Orvis Street at 10 a.m. and march at 10:30 a.m.
Any veteran who wants to take part in the parade but is unable to march can ride in one of three DAV vans.
The parade will end with ceremonies at 11 a.m. at the fire station on Andrews Street with a buffet.
DAV Chapter 171 are hosting the event.
OGDENSBURG -- Amvets Post 19 will serve a free dinner for veterans Nov. 11 from 4 to 6 p.m.
The menu will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes and tossed salad.
A flag-burning ceremony will follow at 7 p.m.
Proof of service is required to get the free meal.

CANTON -- A Veterans Day ceremony will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Canton VFW Post 1231, 34 Gouverneur St., at 11 a.m.
All veterans will be honored.
The post will raise and fly the flag that was used during the funeral services for Hugh McElhearn, a Korean War Navy veteran who recently died.
The public is invited.
Refreshments will be served in the post room at the end of the event.
PARISHVILLE -- A Veterans Day ceremony will be held Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Parishville Memorial Walkway, Catherine Street, across from the town hall.
There will be a speaker and the Army band will perform.
A free meal will be served at 11:30 a.m. in the town hall.
The Army band will play at 12:15 p.m..
The Amvets Post 265 will be open.
New membership is available for free for one year.
POTSDAM -- Potsdam Amvets Post 282 will hold a watch fire and American flag retirement ceremony on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, at 6 pm.
The symbolic watch fire is to honor those fallen in battle and to guide home those missing in action.
Watch fires date back to our country’s first war and have been common to all wars since then.
The flag retirement ceremony is performed to respectfully burn American flags that are tattered and worn and no longer usable.
The post has a drop box located at the entranceway for worn flags.
All are welcome to join for the event.
POTSDAM -- The Potsdam VFW Post 1194, 95 Market St., will host their free veterans lunch on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at noon.
A memorial and moment of silence will be held at 11 a.m.
HEUVELTON -- Amvets Post 1997, 107 State St., is hosting a number of events in November.
They will hold Veterans Day services at 11 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Heuvelton Town Hall, followed by a beef stew lunch at the post.
Nov. 14 from noon to 3 p.m. will be a Robin’s Nest formal gown and holiday gift sale.
A Nov. 15 dance with Pure Country and Ladies Auxiliary surprise auction will raise money for the Heuvelton Giving Tree. The event is slated for 1 to 5 p.m.
On Nov. 22, they will serve a breakfast that is free to veterans. Cost is $6 for $4.30 for children for everyone else. It will go from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.
