POTSDAM -- Clarkson University will host its third annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, Aug. 9, in Cheel Arena, continuing its long-running commitment to veterans.
This year’s event will pay special tribute to veterans of the Vietnam War, but all veterans and the general public are welcome.
The event takes place from noon until 4:30 p.m., with several activities, including a Vietnam Veterans Recognition Ceremony at noon, complete with a color guard and Prisoner of War/Missing in Action presentation.
During the entertainment portion, there will be abbreviated services for veterans and survivors to access, including a few area colleges, hospitals and community groups.
The Max Ryder Band, TimeLine and Ten Cent Green will also perform throughout the afternoon. Free refreshments will be served.
Guests are encouraged to pre-register at northcountryveterans.com. On-site registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Admission is free.
