Science Café will continue Oct. 29 and Oct. 30 with “Venus and the Golden Ratio.”
Venus will reach a milestone as the evening "star" Nov. 1.
The planet’s evening elongation is linked to numerous cycles, along with the planet's relationship to Phi (the Golden Ratio) and the Fibonacci numbers.
Stargazer Bruce McClure, script writer for the popular science program EarthSky, will explore Venus’ cycles, which recur five times every eight Earth years and 13 Venusian years.
The café will meet at 7:15 p.m. at the Blackbird Café, 107 Main St., Canton, Oct. 29 and at the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room, 2 Park St., Oct. 30.
