Variety of classes at Arts Council's Potsdam studios in November

CANTON – Adults and teens can learn something new this November at the St. Lawrence County Arts Council.

All classes are held at Downtown Snell Hall in Potsdam.

• Beginning Tin Whistle for Teens & Adults with Kelly Francom - Fridays, Nov. 4, 11, 18, 7-8 p.m. Learn to read music and play traditional Irish tunes on the Tin Whistle. $30 + $25 for book and whistle.

• Needle Felted Ornaments with Brenda Nicholson - Saturday, Nov. 12, 2-4 p.m. Needle felt wool around a styrofoam ball to make a fun holiday ornament. There will be lots of colors to choose from - kit will include enough supplies to make 2 ornaments. $20 + $7 materials fee.

• Calligraphy Class with Mickey Champagne - Mondays, Nov. 14 & 28, 6:30-8 p.m. Learn the basic skills for one of the oldest art forms, and get ready to add your special touch to those holiday cards this year. $30 + $12 materials fee.

• Integrative Arts with Ola Aldous - Saturday, Nov. 19, 3-5 p.m. Teens & adults. This course will focus on the close relationship between music, art and poetry, creatively combining various artistic mediums. Students will have the opportunity to create their own free-style poetry and visual artwork in response to various musical pieces provided in class. $20. Materials $5.
