Used Book Bonanza planned for June 1-2 in Canton

CANTON – Got books? Readers of all ages can find a good book to enjoy with their cold glass of milk in honor of Dairy Festival Weekend at the St. Lawrence County Historical Association’s Used Book Bonanza.

The Used Book Bonanza will be held in the front yard (and inside) the historical association’s home, the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St., Canton during St. Lawrence County Dairy Festival Weekend, Friday, June 1, noon-6 p.m., and Saturday, June 2, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Hardcover and paperback fiction, nonfiction, poetry, photographs, art, cooking, crafts, gardening, leisure activities, drama, music, and of course, history books are welcome donations. Donations should not be donate mildewed books, books in poor condition, textbooks, out-of-date reference books, encyclopedias or magazines.

For more information on the Used Book Bonanza call SLCHA at 315-386-8133 or e-mail info@slcha.org. All proceeds from the Used Book Bonanza benefit the St. Lawrence County Historical Association.

Bring books to donate by May 31 to the St. Lawrence County Historical Association at the Silas Wright House, 3 E. Main St., during the museum’s regular open hours, Tuesday through Thursday noon to 4 p.m., Friday noon to 6 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Admission to the museum is free; admission to the archives is free for members and children, $2.50 for college students, and $5 for the general public. The St. Lawrence County Historical Association is located at 3 E. Main St., Canton. Parking is available in the back of the SLCHA, next to the museum’s main entrance.

The St. Lawrence County Historical Association is a membership organization open to anyone interested in St. Lawrence County history.
