POTSDAM -- The Robert J Freego Amvets Post, 6771 U.S. Highway 11, will conduct a U.S. flag retirement ceremony at their post on Memorial Day.
The ceremony on will begin at 6 p.m. with a local Boy Scout troop in attendance and performing the ceremony.
The proper retirement of distressed and worn flags is open to the public.
The post has a flag collection receptacle by their front door for anyone in need of disposing their worn and unserviceable flags.
This is a family event.
The AMVETS Post 282 is open Wednesday through Saturdays and all area veterans are encouraged to visit the post, membership applications are available with the bartender.
