OGDENSBURG – One casualty of the federal government’s sequester of funds is an Ogdensburg performance by an Army band in June.
Ogdensburg Command Performances announced that “due to federal funding cut backs,” the June 25 concert by the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors – the Army’s “big band” ensemble -- has been canceled.
“In honor of our 50th year, OCP had hoped to show its appreciation to the community by offering this free performance. We are sorry for any inconvenience,” the announcement from Ogdensburg Command Performances said.
The band, based at Fort Meade, Md., now has no concerts scheduled from early May to early August.
