POTSDAM -- "The President's Own" United States Marine Band will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 9, in Hosmer Hall at SUNY Potsdam.

The Marine Band is America's oldest continuously active professional musical organization. Founded in 1798, the band has performed for every U.S. President since John Adams.

Patrons may reserve tickets (limit four per request) by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Community Performance Series, Attn: Marine Band Concert, 44 Pierrepont Ave., Potsdam, NY 13676, by calling 267-2277 or visiting the Box Office in the lobby of Snell Music Theater, or visiting Northern Music & Video in downtown Potsdam.

Ticket holders must be seated by 7:15 p.m.; non-ticket holders will be admitted at that time.

Marine Band Director Colonel Michael J. Colburn attended SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music as well as Crane Youth Music camp, and was recognized for his achievements with Honorary Lifetime Membership in the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association this summer.
