CANTON -- The Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton, 3 ½ East Main St., will participate in a virtual service with Reverend Meg Riley on Sunday, May 3, at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.

Riley will lead a service entitled “Mayday!” live via webcam.

“May Day calls us to reflect on the pull between our desires to savor and to save,” Riley said. “The sermon will ask how we balance the deep desire to dance joyfully with the flowers with our longing to make the world a little kinder and gentler.

Riley will encourage participants to reflect on balance, contradiction, and transformation.

The Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF) is UU congregation without walls. Started in World War II as an outreach to Unitarian soldiers, CLF now serves a diverse community including prisoners, young adults, religious professionals, and people from all over the world. Riley, a lifelong UU, lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and works with a staff from all over the world to create online worship, meditations, small groups, classes, and other fun.

Also participating in the service is Bob LaVallee, a second-year student at Meadville Lombard seminary and a military veteran. He lives in Buffalo, and is part of the CLF “Circle of Learning Fellows,” focusing his time on worship and military ministry.
