MORLEY -- Bryan Thompson, Town of DeKalb Historian who has done extensive research into the abolitionist movement and the part the North Country played in the Underground Railroad network, will speak 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23 at the Morley Library.
The public is invited to hear Thompson explain the links with churches in Morley, Bucks Bridge and West Potsdam, houses in the North Country proven to be safe stops for escaped slaves heading north to Canada, and the people involved in the Abolitionist activity in the North Country.
The event is sponsored by the Morley Library Association as part of their Local History series.
