The two candidates in the attention-getting campaign for St. Lawrence County district attorney will be on TV Saturday.
DA Nicole Duvé and challenger Mary Rain and candidates for Canton mayor and, county legislature District 9 in Canton will appear at different times on WCKN, channel 30 on Canton and Potsdam cable.
St. Lawrence County District 9 Legislator Steve Putman starts the programs at noon; district attorney candidate Nicole Duvé follows at 12:30 p.m. Canton mayoral candidate Mary Ann Ashley’s conversation runs at 1 p.m.
District attorney candidate Mary Rain is at 1:30 p.m. There will also be a discussion of the casino proposition that will be on the ballot statewide with Steve Horwitz and Liam Hunt at 2 p.m.
At 2:30 p.m., the same line up starts for a second full run.
In each case, invitations were extended to all the candidates in each race in the Nov. 5 election, although some did not accept.
It is presented by North Country Matters, civic partners working to educate North Country residents about critical public policy issues facing our region including AAUW-St. Lawrence County, the League of Women Voters of St. Lawrence County, and Clarkson Media and Mass Communication students, who provide the technical expertise for the productions. The shows are taped in the WCKN studio on the Clarkson campus.
