OGDENSBURG -- The Frederic Remington Art Museum, 303 Washington St., invites the public for a “Night at the Museum” featuring live music and two new masterpieces Thursday, June 16 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Cost is $5 for members and $10 for non-members. Light refreshments and cash bar will be available.
At 6:30 p.m., museum Director Laura Foster will unveil the museum's two Remington masterpieces newly on loan for the season from private collections.
Cast #29 of The Broncho Buster, loaned from a private collection in Wyoming, will be on view in the Albert P. Newell Gallery, enabling the museum to display its sand cast version of the subject next to a lifetime cast made using the lost wax bronze casting method.
Also on display will be will be “In the Rear of the Battle -- Wounded on the San Juan Road,” an oil painting from 1898. This painting, depicting the aftermath of battle, joins other military works by Frederic Remington.
