WILMINGTON -- The 21st annual Whiteface Oktoberfest will be held Saturday Sept. 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event will include original vendors, arts and crafts, children’s amusement rides such as a hayride and inflatables, Bavarian food, drink and entertainment.
There will be traditional German music from Die Schlauberger, who will perform under the entertainment tent outside the base lodge each day, Ed Schenk on the accordion, Schachtelgebirger Musikanten (Scha-Musi) at the Cloudspin Lounge, and Spitze and The Alpen Trio.
Spitze features cowbells, the alpine xylophone, the alphorn and yodeling, while the Alpen Trio will greet Cloudsplitter Gondola passengers at the summit of Little Whiteface with the alphorns.
The dancing groups Alpenland Taenzer and “Kindergruppe” will also perform. Kindergruppe is comprised of couples ages 3-19.
