MORLEY -- The Trinity Chapel in Morley will be open for tours Aug. 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the Morley Community Summer Festival.
The Chapel, constructed in 1870, has not been open for regular services for some time and many area people are unaware of this beautiful building and it’s history.
A special feature of the Chapel tours will be a performance from 1 to 2 p.m. by the Noteworthy Handbell Choir, a local group of handbell players from the Potsdam area. There will also be self-guided tours through the Morley Cemetery.
The cemetery was first established in 1818 and still being used. Many of the earliest settlers of the area as well as a Revolutionary War soldier and a number of Civil War soldiers are buried there. Info: www.noteworthyhandbellchoir.org/.
