POTSDAM -- Trillium Center for Yoga and Health, 25 Market St., is addling new classes in July.
• "Workout with Carrie,” with Carrie Whalen, Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 to 11 a.m. begins July 10. Each class will include cardio fitness, strength training, and flexibility movement. This class is suited for any fitness level. Students will need to bring indoor sneakers and a water bottle.
• "Yoga Fundamentals” with Fred Montville, Mondays, 7 to 8 p.m., begins July 10. This class is intended to help all levels by breaking down yoga poses and building them back up, focusing on breath and alignment. Class will begin with stretching to prepare for the featured postures and will end with a cool-down and meditation.
• "Wake up Yoga," with Fred Montville, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7 to 8 p.m., begins July 11, is an energizing yoga class, incorporating breath work with a sequence of postures to build heat and strength, closing with a cool-down and silent meditation.
• "Yoga with Weights," with Fred Montville, Tuesdays, 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., first class July 11 provides a well rounded practice that incorporates breath work and postures using 1 to 2 pound hand weights. Modifications will be provided to allow for all levels of students to participate and benefit. Class will begin and end with a warm up and cool down series of stretches. The strength building segment will include holding postures and a flow of movement. Students may bring their own weights or use weights at Trillium.
• "Gentle Yoga for Strength and Stability," with Terry de la Vega, Wednesdays, 5:15 to 6:15 p.m, begins July 12. Focus on breathing deeply, strengthening the core, joint mobility, general toning for improved posture and balance, and deep relaxation. This class is for all ages and ability levels.
• "Release and Relax," with Fred and Trish Montville, Thursdays 7 to 8:15 p.m., begins July 13, combines a classic yoga practice with guided meditation. Breathing techniques, stretching, holding postures, and work with therapy balls will transition into a deep relaxation.
All six classes are on-going. Students may pay a drop-in fee of $15 per class or may purchase a ten class card for $120. New students may purchase a three class card for $25. Trillium accepts cash, check, and credit/debit cards.
