Tri-Town Summer Festival to feature fireworks, carnival, parade, "Bubble Man" Aug. 5-8

BRASHER FALLS – “American Pride” will soon be buzzing through the streets of the Tri-Town area during it’s annual Summer Festival, Thursday, Aug. 5 through Sunday, Aug. 8.

Many past favorite events are returning, including Friday evening’s spectacular fireworks display to include live music this year at 9 p.m. at the bus garage. Saturday’s activities will please all ages with events such as the Carnival of Fun at the arena from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., the parade at 11 a.m., and the Duck/Turtle Race at 4 p.m. at the Riverside Campgrounds.

Exciting additions to this year’s schedule:

• Doug Rougeux “Bubble Man” - storytelling, arts and crafts, and choreographed big band with bubbles, 11:30 a.m. Friday at the school playground, and at 7 p.m. at the St. Lawrence Central auditorium, admission $5.

• Logo coloring Contest - Pick up your entry at the IGA in Brasher Falls, entry deadline Aug. 5 at 6 p.m.

• St. Lawrence Central Hall of Fame Ceremony, 7 p.m. Thursday at the school auditorium.

• Brasher Forest Bike Ride – 10-mile scenic route through the State Forest, 11 a.m. Friday with departure from Vice Road.

1 p.m. Senior Luau (LBSH)

6 p.m. Logo Coloring Contest Entry Deadline (IGA), must be 12 years old or younger

7 p.m. SLC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony (SLC Auditorium)

9 p.m. 2nd Annual Cory Jock Home Run Derby (Tri-Town Community Center), no age limit, open to children and adults.

Friday, Aug. 6

All day, Sidewalk Art Contest, Rescue Squad to Pit Stop Pub, rain date Sunday

8:30 a.m. youth golf, Meadowbrook Golf Club

10:30 a.m. stories in the park, Brasher Park

11 a.m. Brasher Forest Trail Ride, Vice Rd) - must be 8+ with bike helmet

11-1 p.m. Hayride & Lion's Cub Picnic (Brasher Park to SLC Playground) Parents must stay at picnic

11:30 a.m. Doug Rougeux "Juggling, Bubbling & Mime (SLC Playground)

2 p.m. Model Airplane Show (Kelsey's Aerodome)

3 p.m. Team Scavenger Hunt (Arena) Team registration @ 2:30 p.m.. Ages 8-18. Form teams to find clues to the location of the Festival logo. Clues will be hidden around town. No motorized vehicles allowed.

4-6 p.m. Chicken BBQ (Knights of Columbus)

7 p.m. Doug Rougeux "Bubble Man" (SLC Auditorium) - storytelling with bubbles; arts & crafts with bubbles; choreographed big band with bubbles; and lucky kid inside a bubble. $5/person at the door.

7 p.m. Class of '90 Reunion (Pit Stop Pub)
