MASSENA -- For the second year in a row, a charity band made up of local musicians will pay tribute to the world-famous Trans-Siberian Orchestra in a holiday-themed benefit concert in support of local school music programs.

“Wizards Rock Opera…a Tribute to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra” will hit the stage at the Massena High School auditorium on Nov. 29 at 5 p.m.

“The band’s 2014 show in Massena played to a packed house drawn to the Wizards’ high-powered music, on-stage theatrics, stunning lighting and awesome special effects,” a statement from Massena Music Friends said.

To resolve the seating problem at last year’s oversold show, there will be 850 tickets available. Any that do not sell will be available at the door.

All concert proceeds go to Massena Music Friends, which over the past four years has donated over $10,000 to Massena Central and Trinity Catholic Schools. The schools used the money to buy instruments like classroom keyboards, a tuba, bass clarinets, a bassoon and string basses.

Tickets for the Nov. 29 Wizards Rock Opera performance are $9 and available exclusively online through showclix.com.

For a link to the concert’s ticketing page, visit Massena Music Friends on Facebook or www.massenamusicfriends.org and use the “get your tickets now!” button.

Wizards also plan benefit performances for the music departments at St. Lawrence Central and Brushton-Moira Central Schools on Saturday, December 19 at 2 and 7 p.m. Both concerts will be at the St. Lawrence Central School auditorium.
