CANTON – Nature Up North and the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring a trail camera photo contest that will run Sept. 22 through Dec. 1.

Many hunters and wildlife enthusiasts use trail cameras to monitor what’s going on in the woods when no one is around. Share the best trail camera photos you’ve captured in St. Lawrence County for a chance to win a new trail camera and other great prizes.

This contest is dedicated to promoting tourism and awareness of all St. Lawrence County has to offer.

Two categories of photos will be judged: Best Overall and Funny-or-Fascinating Wildlife Behavior. The first place overall winner will be awarded a Bushnell HD Max Trophy Cam; other prizes will include $50 gift certificates from local businesses, Nature Up North hats, and other items to be announced.

Three photos in each category will be selected by a panel of judges from Nature Up North, the SLC Chamber, and Robert Moses State Park Nature Center, as well as author and guide c Mike Seymour.

They will then be posted on the Nature Up North and www.facebook.com/Visit.SLC pages for public voting; most “Likes” wins.

All photos must be taken with trail cameras in St. Lawrence County. We will consider photos captured at any time during the last three years (2012, 2013, 2014.)

Photos may be entered in the contest from September 22 through Dec. 1, 2014.

Video submissions will not be accepted but a still shot from a video is acceptable.

Submissions will only be considered if they are entered through Nature Up North. Visit www.natureupnorth.org and create a free user account.
