Traditional lion dance to be performed for Chinese New Year Jan. 28 in Akwesasne

AKWESASNE – A traditional lion dance in celebration of the Chinese New Year will wind its way on the floor of the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28.

The lion dance is a form of traditional dance in Chinese culture in which two performers mimic a lion's movements in a lion costume.

The casino is marking the start of the year of the dragon.
