CANTON -- Traditional Arts in Upstate New York is holding a paddle-painting workshop on May 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Taylor Park Gazebo, Miner Street Road.

John Miller III will teach miniature paddle-painting in the tradition of late 19th-century souvenir paddle makers of the Thousand Islands region.

Participants will work with acrylics, painting on 20-inch ash paddles. All materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take home the souvenir paddles they’ve made. The cost for the workshop, which is open to all ages 10 and up, is $25 per person ($20 for TAUNY Friends). Pre-registration is required: 386-4289 or programs@tauny.org.
