POTSDAM -- The Community Performance Series will present Garry Krinsky's "Toying with Science" on Sunday, Feb. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.
"Toying with Science" is a fast-paced, varied and dynamic program, combining circus and mime skills, original music and audience involvement to explore scientific principles.
Krinsky and his audience also delve into the imaginations of scientists who have played important roles in the exploration and discovery of concepts that define our world. The performer brings a number of science-based toys to life with motion, music, humor and insight, and gets the audience in on the act, making for a truly unique experience.
"It's an engaging program filled with jokes, games, circus tricks and audience participation, making it perfect for the whole family. Not only will the audience stay engaged in the performance, but they will come out having learned about basic science, simple machines, gravity and the history of science," said CPS Executive Director Amy Flack.
Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Tickets can be purchased by calling 267-2277, or by visiting the box office in the lobby of SUNY Potsdam's Performing Arts Center, which is open Monday through Friday, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Orders can also be placed online at www.cpspotsdam.org.
The box office will also be open in the lobby of Snell Theater one hour prior to the event.
