POTSDAM -- On Thursday, July 14, the Tour de Potsdam will once again kick off the Potsdam Summer Festival, sponsored by the St. Lawrence County Community Development Program (CDP).

This is the 15th year that the fundraising Tour has been held. Several organizations have taken turns hosting the event.

CDP has this year taken over hosting the walk/run from the St Lawrence County Health Initiative.

Walkers and runners may download a pre-registration form at www.tourdepotsdam.com and send it to St. Lawrence County Community Development Program at 1 Commerce Lane, Canton, NY 13617 along with a check or money order for $15 per runner. A free event t-shirt will go to the first 100 pre-registered walkers/runners. Children under 12 are free with at least one registered adult.

Registration is also available on the day of the event with cash being accepted at that time. Registration on the day of the walk/run will begin at 5 p.m behind Potsdam Laundry.

Walkers begin at 6 p.m. with the runners following at 6:30.

CDP is a Community Action Agency serving families with a low income for over fifty years in St. Lawrence County. Some of their programs are Weatherization, Head Start, the Neighborhood Centers and Housing Choice Voucher Program (rental assistance).
