MALONE – Titus Mountain Family Ski Center will open for the season at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 with night skiing until 10 p.m.

Then Titus will be open every day for the rest of the season, weather permitting.

The new owners have expanded the trail network, upgraded their grooming capability, and overhauled base facilities at the lower mountain, according to Marketing Director Dene Savage.

Enhanced snowmaking with new snow guns gives Titus the ability to make more snow faster and on all three mountains simultaneously, Savage said.

The upper mountain lodge has new wall-to-wall carpeting, upgraded restroom facilities and a new roof.

The lower mountain lodge has a new outdoor stone patio with a bandstand, two new fireplaces and a wood-fired pizza oven.

There is more parking at the lower mountain and more reserved parking spaces.

On the mountain, two new trails have been added, along with numerous improvements to the lift stations and other outlying buildings.

A new wireless network has been installed that will offer improved internet connectivity.

An expanded E-Store on titusmountain.com allows customers to purchase lift tickets and rentals online. Titus has also upgraded its on-mountain point-of-sale system to process transactions more quickly and added new rental equipment, including high-performance ski packages.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday lift tickets can be purchased in the morning and are good until 10 p.m. One age 5 and under pass is free with each adult pass. Active military personnel receive a $5 discount anytime. And “College Daze” are every Thursday, when college students with a valid ID can ski all day and night for $20.
