CANTON -- The St. Lawrence Nordic Ski group, forming in Canton at 90 E. Main St., is staging a three-day launch party Jan. 12-14.
Membership in the group is open to the public and costs $50. Perks of membership include discounts at the Best Western and the St. Lawrence Golf and Country Club. All membership proceeds will fund trail grooming efforts.
There will be a $10 fee for the party, which includes all you can eat wings and open trail skiing for the weekend.
The schedule is:
• Jan. 12, Full Moon Ski, 6 p.m., evening concludes at the outdoor fire pit;
• Jan. 13, Brew-Ski, a 5k Race For Charity, starting at 4 p.m., adult and youth welcome. Finish the day skiing the trails and sampling local craft brews. All beers half price with the purchase of a Nordic Ski membership.
• Jan. 14, Canton’s first Wing War, 1 p.m. skiing, wings, and voting for your favorite local restaurant. All proceeds will support North Country Life Flight.
