MASSENA – The 35th annual Solidarity Parade on Labor Day parade could draw thousands of marchers and spectators for this year's event, which will include a picnic for union members and guests afterward.
Marching bands, labor unions members, and local politicians are expected at the parade, created as a celebration of union labor and supporters.
Marchers will line up on Willow Street for Monday’s 11 a.m. procession. It will head west, turn onto Main Street and head south. They will cross state Route 37 and stop at Spring's Park.
“Without solidarity we all stand alone” is this year’s theme.
The picnic at the end is for marchers and their guests, and will include free food and beverages.
Any labor groups interested in marching should contact parade co-chairmen Ron McDougall at 323-1244.
