POTSDAM -- In honor of World AIDS Day, the SUNY Potsdam AIDS Education Group will host long-term HIV survivor Doug Weiss, who will present a free talk entitled "Thirty Years of Living with HIV and Counting."
The talk will be offered Thursday, Nov. 29 from 6 to 7 p.m. in the College Theater, located in Satterlee Hall.
This year marks 31 years since the first diagnosed case of AIDS in the United States, and the 24th official observation of World AIDS Day, first organized by UNAIDS, an international AIDS intervention organization. It also marks the 24th year that the SUNY Potsdam AIDS Education Group has been in existence.
This year's World AIDS Day theme is "Getting to Zero: Zero New HIV Infections. Zero Discrimination. Zero AIDS-Related Deaths."
