POTSDAM -- Clarkson University's physician assistant program is hosting its third annual “Teddy Bear Toss” on Saturday, Jan. 30, to benefit child patients at local hospitals.

Those who bring a new stuffed animal to the men's hockey game against Colgate will receive a free general admission ticket to the game. Teddy bears will be available for sale in the Cheel Campus Center before the game, and a plastic wrap station will be provided for any stuffed animal brought for the toss.

The toss will occur either after the first Clarkson goal or at the end of the first period, whichever occurs first. Participants will then be invited to toss their stuffed animals onto the ice at that time.

Clarkson PA students delivered more than 350 stuffed animals to children last year. All donations will go to local hospitals, including Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, Massena Memorial Hospital, Gouverneur Hospital, Alice Hyde Medical Center, Adirondack Medical Center, Carthage Area Hospital and the Guthrie Clinic at Fort Drum.
