MASSENA — TAUNY’s traveling exhibit “Look Down, You’ll See Our Tracks”: Raquette River Dam Stories will be on view Feb. 24 through May at the Celine G. Philibert Memorial Cultural Centre & Museum, 79 Main St.
An opening reception is slated for 2 p.m. with at the Massena Public Library, 41 Glenn St., followed by a tour and reception at the museum.
Over the last century, the Raquette River was transformed by a series of dams and powerhouses built to harness its hydroelectric power. This exhibit documents the stories of people involved in or significantly affected by these power projects.
The opening in Massena will include a presentation on the exhibit and oral history project by Camilla Ammirati, TAUNY director of research and programs.
Light refreshments will be served.
