CANTON -- TAUNY will host two local artists Saturday, Dec. 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Gene Newman carves wildlife sculptures from wood harvested locally. He primarily works with cherry, butternut and maple and uses nature as his inspiration.

Kim Schneider hooks rugs, using “primitive” style with wide strips of fabric. She designs her own patterns, which favor animals and florals. She will show patrons how to try rug hooking.

Patrons can also check out the Sugar and Spice Gingerbread exhibit, which is currently on display.
