CANTON – This holiday season, TAUNY is adding a new twist to its annual Sugar & Spice Gingerbread Contest and Exhibit by introducing a fairy tale theme to the event.
Gingerbread house makers are invited to create fairy tale creations for TAUNY’s contest and exhibit. Creations must be made of gingerbread baked from scratch and they must be entirely edible (except the base).
Entries must conform to the fairy tale theme.
Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Adult (17 and older), Child (under 17, with minimal adult help), and Youth Group (scouting groups, 4-H clubs, etc.; please note that groups are limited to six individuals per house).
A “People’s Choice” prize will be awarded at the close of the exhibit, based on popular vote.
Submissions for the contest must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.
Pre-registration is requested no later than Nov. 23.
For more detailed guidelines and to register, visit www.TAUNY.org or contact 386-4289 or info@tauny.org.
The Sugar & Spice exhibit will open at TAUNY’s Holiday Open House Saturday, Dec. 3, and remain on display through Friday, Dec. 23.
All contest entries will remain on display until the exhibit closes.
