CANTON -- American and British delegates gathered in Belgium as early as August 1814 to begin negotiating a peace agreement to end the War of 1812. The resulting “Treaty of Ghent” and its effects will be discussed by Dr. Sandy Kuehl on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2 p.m. at the Silas Wright House, 3 East Main St.
This War of 1812 program is part of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association’s Commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812, which was fought from 1812-1815.
