POTSDAM – Stephen Lee will speak about the global fight against HIV/AIDS at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27 in the Barrington Student Union Multipurpose Room at SUNY Potsdam.

Lee is with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. He manages the development and implementation of prevention, care, and treatment services to individuals affected and infected by HIV/AIDS. Before that, he was with the Bureau of Global Health at USAID. There, he supported HIV/AIDS care and treatment program development, evaluated existing programs and policies, and analyzed research. He was also an HIV/AIDS infectious disease advisor for USAID, focusing on disease prevention and monitoring in Europe and Asia.

This event is free and open to the public, and is sponsored by Planned Parenthood of the North Country New York and the SUNY-Potsdam AIDS Education group.

The Potsdam AIDS Education group is dedicated to providing accurate and current information about prevention, confidential HIV testing at Student Health Services, and a broad approach to intervention that includes peer AIDS educators, information in a variety of formats, programs, outreach to local and regional agencies, and teaching efforts that address the needs of the SUNY Potsdam campus community.

Planned Parenthood of the North Country provides confidential and affordable reproductive and sexual health care, sexuality education, and advocacy in St. Lawrence, Franklin, Jefferson, Clinton and Lewis Counties.
