POTSDAM -- The Department of Theatre and Dance at SUNY Potsdam will present its annual Festival of One-Act Plays from Thursday, April 19 to Sunday, April 22 in the Black Box Theater, located in the Performing Arts Center.

The plays are selected, directed and produced entirely by students enrolled in Spring 2018's Directing 2 class. Students in Lighting Design, Stage Management, and Technical Theatre production courses are also involved in designing, running and crewing the shows.

The productions are split into two programs, and will run as follows:

Program A includes: Ian McWethy's "The Internet is Distract-Oh, Look a Kitten!" directed by Emily Lotocki, and Barbara Wiechmann's "Aunt Leaf," directed by Rafael Villa. Program A will open on Thursday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m., continue on Saturday, April 21, at 2 p.m., and close on Sunday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m.

Program B includes: Brendon Votipka's "Face Forward: Growing up in Nazi Germany," directed by Joe Jackson, and Carolyn Gage's "Bite My Thumb," directed by Amanda Kimball. Program B will open on Friday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m., continue on Saturday, April 21, also at 7:30 p.m., and conclude on Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

Tickets are free, and will be available at the door one hour before the performance begins. The doors will open a half-hour before each performance.

Reservations can be made by calling the Community Performance Series Box Office, at 315-267-2277. While admission is free, donations are being collected at the performances to support those impacted by Hurricane Maria.
