POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School will present a free spring choral concert featuring the Crane Touring Choir, Phoenix Club and Hosmer Singers Thursday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Hosmer Hall.

The performance will include works by Eric Whitacre, Aaron Copland and Libby Larsen.

The Crane Touring Choir is comprised of upperclassmen who will travel to Europe in May. The group will visit Austria, Hungary and the Czech Republic to perform in venues across Eastern Europe, including the beautiful Karlskirche in Vienna and St. Nicholas Church in Prague. The choir is conducted by Rebecca Reames.

The Hosmer Singers is a select choir of sopranos, altos, tenors and basses. Heather Eyerly directs the group.

The Phoenix Club is the oldest choral ensemble on campus, founded in 1894. It is composed of talented women from a variety of campus majors. Rebecca Reames directs the club. One of the highlights of the choir's program will be the inaugural performance of a 2012 commissioned work by the American Choral Directors Association's Women's Commission Consortium, a piece called "Full Fathom Five" by Paul Carey.
