POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a concert featuring works by Associate Dean and Professor of Composition Dr. David Heuser Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The concert will feature two world premieres and two works from 2006, performed by Crane faculty members David Pittman-Jennings, Robert Young, Rosemarie Suniga, Shelly Tramposh, Julianne Kirk-Doyle, David Heinick, Matt Wexler, Carol Lowe and Alexandra Shatalov, as well as Crane students Brandon Bromsey, Alex Durr and Molly Jones.

The performance will open with Heuser's "borne by constellations of green birds," a three-movement work for saxophone and piano. The title and inspiration for this piece came from Olga Cabral's poem "Tree Full of Birds."

The world premiere of "October," a work for viola, vibraphone and marimba, will follow. Heuser's second new work, titled "...recalculating...," will be performed by a woodwind quartet, with oboe, clarinet, saxophone and bassoon.

The concert will conclude with the 2006 work "Arrows," which sets three poems by Tony Hoagland for baritone, clarinet, cello and piano.

Admission is free.

The concert will broadcast live at www.potsdam.edu/academics/Crane/streaming.
