POTSDAM -- The SUNY Potsdam softball team has teamed up with the SUNY Potsdam student community to promote “National Eating Disorder Awareness Week.”
Members of the team will man a table in the student union and participate in “Operation Beautiful Wednesday” from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. to noon Thursday. Operation Beautiful is a positive thinking initiative where people place Post-it notes with complimentary statements in random places for others to find.
“I think there is a lot of negative thinking and even bullying among people now a days,” said Bears’ senior captain Heather Johnson, Heuvelton. “This is a cause that is close to our team and it is a nice opportunity for us to get people to start thinking positively.”
The Bears will open the 2013 season with a doubleheader against the Lyndon
State Hornets Friday, March 1 at the Adirondack Sports Complex Dome in
Queensbury at 1 p.m.
