POTSDAM – SUNY Potsdam will celebrate the ribbon cutting for the college's new $55 million Performing Arts Center in a special ceremony Dec. 4 at 44 Pierrepont Ave.
A reception will begin at 11 a.m. and will be followed by a program with remarks from elected officials, campus leaders, the project architects and contractors, culminating with the ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.
There will also be a dance performance during the ceremony.
The campus community will be invited to tour the new building at noon. The first new academic building to be unveiled at SUNY Potsdam in 40 years, the Performing Arts Center will house the college's Department of Theatre and Dance. Park in Lot 6, near the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at The Crane School of Music.
