POTSDAM -- The Center for Lifelong Education and Recreation at SUNY Potsdam is excited to introduce their new medical billing and coding program through CODESMART University.
CLEAR will host a free information session for anyone interested in learning more about these programs April 30 at 6 p.m. in Raymond Hall.
"With the industry wide ICD-10 medical coding conversion approaching, these course offerings will be greatly beneficial to existing professionals and anyone considering joining the field," said CLEAR Program Coordinator Beth Todd. "While there are many different choices for medical coding training available, SUNY Potsdam has chosen CODESMART University due to its robust and unique curriculum. Not only does the training place an emphasis on medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, unlike many coding programs it includes procedural based coding as well as diagnosis coding. It also includes a virtual internship for new coding professionals. It truly helps prepare students for success in the healthcare industry!"
At the information session, an overview of how the courses will benefit both new and existing coders, as well as clinicians and physicians, will be provided.
