POTSDAM -- Vox Novus and the SUNY Potsdam Electronic Music Studios (PoEMS) will present Circuit Bridges: New Nodes, a concert of new electroacoustic music representing a cross-section of the diversity of music being composed today.
The concert is slated for Tuesday, Jan. 27, at 5 p.m. in Wakefield Recital Hall at SUNY Potsdam. Admission is free.
New Nodes is a travelling program that creates bridges on a growing network of electronic music communities around the world.
Circuit Bridges is dedicated to highlighting the community of electroacoustic music creators. Founded in 2014 by Robert Voisey and under the artistic direction of David Morneau and Melissa Grey, Circuit Bridges strives to explore all music under the electroacoustic umbrella.
This includes sonic art, radio art, glitch, circuit bending, electronica, real-time improvisation, network performance, audiovisual composition, mash-up, and data sonification. The concert features music by Dan Abatemarco (Speak Onion), Daniel Blinkhorn, Chris Cresswell, Melissa Grey, Elainie Lillios, Mike McFerron, David Morneau, Milica Paranosic, Jerod Sommerfeldt, and Robert Voisey.
