WANAKENA -- The SUNY- ESF Ranger School in Wanakena will host an open house Saturday, April 21.

The program will include presentations from the director on the unique academic and student life, admission and financial aid, a campus tour with students, lunch in the dining hall and a “mini-field experience.”

The Ranger School Open House is a full day event. To register visit http://www.esf.edu/admissions/rsvisit.asp.

The Ranger School offers students a unique educational experience in a spectacular natural setting in southern St. Lawrence County, and is a part of the 6-million acre Adirondack Park. The school offers three associate in applied science degrees leading to opportunities in forest, natural resources conservation or land surveying technology careers, and a hands-on, experience-based step toward a bachelor of science degree.

Within the curriculum, there are three areas of study: forest technology, land surveying technology, and environmental and natural resources conservation.

The Ranger School's one-plus-one plan allows students to complete their first year of higher education at the college of their choice, then complete their second year at The Ranger School.

Students wishing to continue on for their bachelor's degree may do so at SUNY-ESF's main campus in Syracuse.
