CANTON -- A poet who challenges and investigates language, history and race will kick off the spring installment of SUNY Canton's Living Writers Series.
Tyrone Williams will speak at 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26 in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center's Kingston Theater.
The event is free.
Williams' literary career has spanned nearly 30 years. He is the author of a number of books including "Convalescence" (1987), "Futures, Elections" (2004) and "Pink Tie" (2011).
Williams is the editor of "African American Literature: Revised Edition" (2008).
He teaches at Xavier University in Cincinnati. Williams' visit is one many activities commemorating Black History Month on campus.
