CANTON -- SUNY Canton accounting students will volunteer their time to help qualifying individuals and families file their taxes for free. Sessions are available from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, now through April 1; excluding the week of March 10.
Sessions will be held in Wicks Hall Room 031 on SUNY Canton’s campus. Appointments are required for this service.
The service is free to students, and open to the public, but the qualifying income bracket for participants is a gross income below $49,000.
Required items include Social Security cards, photo identification, all W-2's and any other income documents, unemployment compensation (Form 1099G), interest or dividend income (form 1099INT and 1099DIV), and last year's NY State and Federal Tax Returns.
