'Summer Solstice Soirée' to benefit Grasse River Heritage planned for June 20 in Canton

CANTON -- Grasse River Heritage will hold the Summer Solstice Soirée, an elegant gourmet picnic, Thursday, June 20 at 6:30 p.m.

Festivities will begin with a social hour at 6:30 p.m. at Heritage Park on Coakley Island. Hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar will be available.

A three-course dinner by Blackbird Café will be served under a tent in Heritage Park, rain or shine. Guests will have the choice of grilled smoked ribeye steak, statler chicken breast with local herb infusion, or the vegetarian tempeh fuego.

A Fine Line will provide live music.

Raffles for a Yukon Voyager Canoe Ride donated by Rena Inez and Carrie Newell, a brewery tour and artisan beer tasting donated by the St. Lawrence Brewing Company, and a weekend stay at White Pillars Lodging donated by John and Donna Clark will be held. Raffle tickets will be $5 each or $25 for six.

Proceeds will support Grasse River Heritage activities, including maintenance of the Peter Van de Water Walking Trails in Heritage Park.

Tickets will be $75 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Blackbird Café or from Grasse River Heritrage, PO Box 735, Canton, 13617 or from board members.
