• Fourth of July sand art paintings, July 2, 10 a.m. to noon, participants will create a picture using red, white and blue sand. Meet at the registration building at Barnhart Beach.

• Louisville Arena car show, July 3, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., booth where people can practice casting and catching “fish” with poles and targets

• Independence Day celebration and fireworks display, St. Lawrence Centre, July 3, noon-8 p.m., same event at as car show

• Owls at Jacques Cartier State Park, July 6, 10 to 11 a.m., learn owl facts, dissect owl pellet to find out what they eat

• Owls at Barnhart Beach, July 7, 10 to 11 a.m., same as Cartier park event

• Owls at Coles Creek State Park beach program, July 7, 11 to 2 p.m., same as other two owl events

• Reptiles at Jacques Cartier State Park, July 13, 10 to 11 a.m., learn about turtles and other local reptiles, try to spot some at the park

• Beavers at Barnhart Beach, July 14, 10 to 11 a.m., learn about beavers, the New York state mammal and make beaver mask

• Beavers at Coles Creek State Park, July 14, 1 to 2 p.m., same as Barnhart event

• Turtles at Hepburn Library of Waddington, July 18, 9 to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to noon, learn turtle facts, see a few live ones

• Tracking at Jacques Cartier State Park, July 20, 10 to 11 a.m., learn to locate animals in the wild, which of their sings to follow

• Barnhart Beach basic fishing program, July 21, 10 to 11 a.m., practice basic knots, cast a line, catch fish, learn about fish in the area and how to handle them. All gear provided, dress for weather.

• Coles Creek State Park beach fishing program, July 21, 1 to 2 p.m., same as Barnhart event

• I Love Massena Day, Alcoa Park, Massena, July 23, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., same fishing demonstration from earlier community events

• Owls at Hepburn Library of Waddington, July 25, 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., 10:30 a.m. to noon, same as earlier owl events

• Massena Public Library story walk at Barnhart Beach, July 27, 10 to 11 a.m., stroll along the beach with a story book
